I address these top issues in my course.
Deeper concerns:
What do you do about food cravings.
What if I slip up - am I back to square one?
I am addicted I cant give up sugar
Are you worried about this:
· Am I allowed to drink coffee – the answer is yes
· Can I continue to drink alcohol- the answer is no ( just for 4 weeks but hopefully longer)
· Why do I have to give up all the fun things like sweets and alcohol( I am keen for you to understand why this is important)
Do your stress habits look like this:
· Stress feels like it happening all the time and there is nothing you can do about it
· Using food as a crutch when stressed
· Falling into bad binge habits when stressed - such as alcohol
· Losing focus on the greater picture and getting caught up in minor details
Do you feel your subconscious is running the show somehow:
1. Not aware of what is hindering progress
2. Attachment to foods or habits
3. Not understanding your “why”
4. Time poor- cant fit in shopping or cooking
5. No health goals – just floating
6. Huge attachments to a busy social life connected to food & drink
7. Lack of desire for variety
8. Fussy eating
9. Lack of planning
10. Lack of motivation
11. Attachment to deeply entrenched bad habits/ self sabotage
12. Not wanting to make changes
13. Not enjoying the transition from bad to good habits and the way it feels at first
14. The discomfort of change
Are there deeper challenges for you:
- Breaking from mainstream advice
- Breaking from social norms and patterns of social behaviour
- Necessity to be thorough / diligent and consistent to get results
If you have come this far there must still be some answers you are looking for and perhaps the results you have gotten so far with your efforts are not what you expected or they are too hard to maintain.
Health and healthy habits mean something different to everybody but the bottom line is change.
Some of my recommendations are quite different to what other gut experts are saying. Are you ready to do things differently.
The more you say YES to these changes the bigger your results will be. That is completely up to you. I cant do it for you I can only point the way.
Who is not recommended to do this course:
- If you have blood or mucus in your stool I recommend you seek medical advice before doing this course.
- If you have an unmanaged autoimmune condition, please check with your health professional first.
- If you have a diagnosed mental health condition you need clearance from your health professional to do this course.
- If you have diagnosed SIBO: my suggestion is you get the SIBO under control first.
Diagnosis of SIBO remains a clinical challenge due to symptom overlap with other gut disorders. There is a link to large bowel ( Colon) dysbiosis and Gut Microbiota imbalance. SIBO is closely linked to broader gut microbiota dysbiosis, which encompasses not only the small intestine but also the large bowel. Dysbiosis describes an imbalance or maladaptive change in the diversity and composition of the gut microbiota, often leading to overgrowth of potentially pathogenic species. SIBO can result from or contribute to large bowel dysbiosis by allowing colonic bacteria to migrate or flourish in the small intestine, especially in the setting of disrupted intestinal motility or anatomical abnormalities. This relationship may function as a “vicious cycle” with SIBO and large bowel dysbiosis each exacerbating malabsorption, inflammation and compromised mucosal integrity.
