Your Body pH affects EVERYTHING!

 pH control is one of the most important biochemical balances in your body. All biochemical reactions, intracellular activity and electrical (life) energy are affected by it. That is why pH is one of the first things I look at if you are experiencing imbalance (symptoms of disease) in your body.

pH controls the speed of our body's biochemical reactions including the way our bodies utilize enzymes, minerals, vitamins, and food. It does this by controlling the speed of enzyme activity as well as the speed that electricity moves through our body.

Most health problems are due to acidity. Unless the body's pH level is slightly alkaline, the body’s ability to heal itself is very limited.

It is really so simple! 

Our western lifestyle and diet have us tracking more on the acidic side and so our body fights to compensate and "buffer" this acidity, often sequestering minerals from anywhere it can grab them. This is where calcium loss from the bones can go to.

 I suggest that testing your first morning void (midstream) as a great way to see if you are on track. A good pH test strip with finer increments from about 5 to 10. The higher the number the more alkaline and the lower the number the more acidic. Neither extreme is good – it is the sweet spot of 6.5 – 7 that is the desired figure.

Here are my top tips for alkalising and staying in the sweet spot. This list contains more than diet and consumables as we can even be acidic in thoughts, music choices and many aspects of lifestyle.

Alkalising top tips:

  1. Alkalising green smoothie x 1 per day or the contents chewed (change it up regularly – anything green is the go – but not kale)
  2. Lemon Juice in water x 3-4 per day
  3. Alkalising mineral powder daily
  4. Bi carb (½ teaspoon) 1 x per day
  5. Lots of relaxing music (Mozart is best!)
  6. Dry skin brushing
  7. Deep breathing (box breathing count 4 while inhaling – 4 to hold – 4 to exhale and 4 hold on the exhale)
  8. Time in nature and forest bathing

Any way that we can improve elimination – via breath/ skin and all the ways we “let go” is going to help you to stay in the pH neutral zone of 7.

If you wake up in the morning and pee up a 7 – keep going… smile and know you are in the ZONE.
